The Combat Zone

It is the only place on the server made for fighting, with its arenas, its points to win and its evening gatherings.

The Combat Zone, arena by arena

/warzone takes you there. You arrive in an entry area, then you move forward towards the arenas. There are three of them, from the easiest to the hardest.

  • The sword arena: sword and bow. No block gets placed here.
  • The mace arena: sword, bow and mace, that big heavy weapon that crushes on landing when you fall from high up. No block gets placed here either.
  • The crystal arena: sword and bow, and it is the only one where you can place blocks and End crystals, the ones that explode. The mace is banned there.

The trident is banned everywhere. Potions and cobwebs are allowed in all three. Once you have moved into the next arena, you cannot go back. You cannot fire an arrow towards an arena harder than yours, and you cannot pass items into it. And you lose your gear when you die over there just like everywhere else.

Winning PvP points

An elimination in the Combat Zone earns you 1 PvP point. Three rules, otherwise it does not count.

  • You have to wear armour that really protects: at least 5 armour points out of the 20 of a full set, the little icons above your health bar. A full iron set gives 15, so plenty. On the other hand, going out with two mismatched pieces may not be enough.
  • Killing the same person again earns nothing for one hour.
  • You only receive your points after eliminating five different players. The game shows you at all times how many you have left. So killing the same person five times is never enough.

Spending them

Open /recompenses, then PvP Rewards. Twenty-eight items are waiting for you there, sorted from the cheapest to the most expensive.

  • Around 10 points: runes, little items that give you strength, speed or fire resistance for a while
  • Around 100 points: potions, golden apples and enchanted armour pieces
  • Around 1,000 points: the grappling hook, which hooks far away and pulls you towards it, the Totem of Undying, which saves you from one death if you hold it in your hand, and the Epic and Legendary Keys

An elimination is worth 1 point, and 2 during the Golden Hour. So count in evenings: the top of the list is played out over several weeks.

The Golden Hour, every day at 9pm

For one hour, every PvP point counts double. It is the most fought over moment of the day.
