Talking to other players

Chat is where everything happens: the event alerts, the announcements, and the other players.

Why you see nothing at the start

During the starting path, chat is turned off so you do not get drowned in messages. It comes back on by itself at the fifth step, or right away if you type /skiptutoriel. You are not being silenced, it is on purpose. Careful: if you leave steps hanging without finishing or skipping the path, chat stays off.

There is no team channel

No command talks to your team alone. To get organised, use the private messages below, or the server Discord.

Talking to someone in private

/msg followed by their name sends a message only they see. /r replies to the last message you got, without typing the name again.

When someone bothers you

/ignore followed by their name, and you see nothing from them any more. They are not told. /unignore undoes it whenever you want.

Showing what you are holding

Actually write [i], square brackets included, in your message: it shows the item you have in hand. Handy for selling or for showing off. On phone, the brackets are on the symbols page of your keyboard. This is the only place in the guide where you really type square brackets.

Choosing what you see

/settings lets you switch off crate, purchase, event and advertising announcements separately. If chat feels too busy, that is where you sort it out, not by leaving.

What you tell nobody

Your password, your address, your real name, your age, your photo. Nobody here needs any of it to play with you, and the server team will never ask you for it. If someone insists, /ignore followed by their name, and report them on the /discord.

Turning chat off

/togglechat turns public chat off in one go. You see nothing go by any more, and the same command turns it back on.
