Levelling up
Your player level is your personal progress. It follows you everywhere and does not depend on your raft.
How it climbs
By playing, quite simply: mining, cutting wood, harvesting, fishing, killing monsters. Every action gives job experience, and that experience pushes your level up.
/level shows where you are at.
Where the experience counts
Everywhere you play: your raft, your Nether, your End, and the resource world too. No place robs you of your job experience.
That matters: three hours of mining in the resource world do not move your level up a single notch.
How far it goes
Up to level 500, and the step grows fast.
- Level 1 costs 90 points, level 10 costs 1,100, level 25 costs 7,400 on its own.
- Reaching level 25 takes about 64,000 points in all.
- The last levels are counted in millions.
The longer you go without a break, the more the server slows down what you earn, though never below a quarter of what you were earning when you arrived. So staying twelve hours in a row does not pay twelve times more.
For comparison, a full day of 16 votes gives 4,800 points, enough to reach level 9. Voting helps a lot early on, and becomes a small bonus afterwards.
Prestige, the wall at 25 levels
At level 25, your experience stops climbing. It is not a bug: you have to pass a prestige to open the next 25 levels.
The walls stand every 25 levels: 25, 50, 75, and so on up to 475. That makes nineteen doors.
The twentieth is at level 499: the very last level, 500, needs a prestige all to itself.
If you stop earning anything while you are playing, it is almost always that.
What it pays
One level in ten pays gems: 5, 15, 25, and so on up to 495. Fifty tiers in all, climbing from 800 gems at the start to 15,000 at the end.
Put end to end, that makes 288,000 gems over the whole run, so about 144 euros of store credit. It is by far the biggest source of free gems on the server.
Be clear eyed about the pace though: Premium's 50,000 gems are reached around player level 275. That is very far off, but it is the only path that really gets there without paying.
Going faster
Experience boosters, won in the crates, double what you earn for a limited time. Save them for the 19:00 Epic: the two effects stack.
