Making money
There are two currencies. Dollars, which you earn by playing, and gems, which come from the shop, from votes and from certain rewards. The two are not for the same things.
The four ways to earn dollars
- Selling your resources with
/sell. That is the basic one: you open it, you drop your stuff in, you cash in. - Selling to other players at the Auction House, with
/ah. Often far more profitable than/sell. - Delivering orders that other players have placed, with
/order. - Quests, jobs and levels, which pay you regularly without you having to think about it.
Knowing what to sell
/worth gives you the price of what you are holding, and the list of what is going up or down right now. Prices move with what players sell: an ore everyone is selling loses value.
The server shop
/shop is the shop run by the server. You buy what you are missing there at a fixed price. Selling prices there are deliberately unattractive: to sell, the Auction House pays more.
Your town's money
The money you earn is yours. Your town's bank is separate, and it is the one that pays for levels and rent. Putting money in the bank means investing in your town, not stashing your savings.
What costs a lot
- Town levels, more and more expensive: 5,000$ for the first, 1.6 million for the fortieth.
- Going back to where you died with
/deathback, if you have a rank: it costs 5% of your money with Premium, 1% with Premium+. Without a rank you walk back, and it costs you nothing.
