Crates

The server's eight crates, where their keys come from, and what your odds inside really are.

The eight crates

They stand at spawn, at /warp caisse. Each key opens its own crate and gives a random prize among those on show.

Spawner Crate: monster spawners to place on your island.
Epic Crate: the useful items, including the Spawner Claw, which moves a spawner.
Legendary Crate: the most powerful tools and armour on the server.
End Crate: the rewards tied to the End.
Vote Crate: free with every vote.
Playtime Crate: free just by playing.
Festive Crate: given to everyone when the store gauge fills up. That gauge rises with player purchases, not with time.
Nautilus Crate: a summer crate, open every year until 30 September. After that date, your unused keys stay in your inventory, but the crate is no longer standing there: open them before it goes.

Where the keys really come from

Four of them are free and regular: the Vote Crate with every vote, the Playtime Crate just by playing, the Festive Crate when the store gauge fills up, and the Nautilus Crate during the summer.

The other three, Generator, Epic and Legendary, are bought in the store, but they also drop for free: in your daily login reward, in events, in chat reactions, and an Epic Key is given at the end of the starting path and then on every day of 16 votes.

The End Key, for its part, comes out of the Vote Crate.

Your odds, plainly

A crate draws a single random prize. Here is what that really gives, so you know what to expect before you spend:

Epic Crate, 14 prizes: 2% of landing Premium, 1% of a Legendary Key, and 11% on the most frequent prize.
Legendary Crate, 15 prizes: 3% of Premium+, and no prize above 11%.
Spawner Crate, 28 generators: from the sheep, at 10%, to the iron golem, at 0.25%.
Vote Crate, 28 prizes: the most frequent is 50,000 $ at 7.9%, the rarest a Nautilus Key at 0.1%.
Playtime Crate, 28 prizes: the most frequent is 5,000 $ at 11.5%.
Festive Crate, 10 prizes: it only gives keys. 32% of Spawner Key, 18% of Epic Key, 14% of Legendary Key, and doubles beyond that.
End Crate, 18 prizes, and Nautilus Crate, 14 prizes: the armour pieces are the rarest, around 1%.

One detail that counts: the Premium won in a crate lasts 7 days, and 3 days in the Vote and Playtime crates. It is never the store rank.

Put another way: you do not play a crate for one precise prize. Aim for the average contents, not the jackpot.
