Trading face to face

For giving or swapping items with somebody standing in front of you, without a chest and without any risk.

How to do it

/trade followed by their username sends them a request. If they accept, a window opens with two sides: yours and theirs. Each of you puts down what you are offering, and each of you has to confirm.

As long as you have not both confirmed, nothing moves. If one of you changes their offer afterwards, the other one's confirmation is cancelled.

Why it is safer than a chest

With a chest, one of the two puts their things down first and has to trust the other. With /trade, nobody can walk off with the other one's stuff.

If somebody suggests another way

A player who refuses to use /trade and insists you put your things down first is trying to rob you. There is no good reason to turn down a face to face trade.
